Thomas K. Balogh

Balogh, Thomas K., November 9, 2021, age 70. Beloved husband of Marianne. Dear father of Jacqueline Balogh and Scott (Eden) Balogh. Dear brother of John (Linda), Kathleen, Daniel, Eileen (Frank) Mastro, Edward (Mary), Robert (Lori), James (Kristen), Kevin (Joseph) and the late Joseph. Survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Tom was born and grew up in Chicago, IL to John and Kathleen (Peg) Balogh. He was the second oldest of nine children, and was very influential to his younger siblings. He earned a Master's Degree in Business from Walsh College. He had an incredibly intelligent, analytical, and articulate mind; always reading, researching and learning. He loved pulling things apart and putting them back together again. This skill extended from cars, to his extensive knowledge about home repairs and improvements. Most notably, he loved to work with wood and create one-of-a-kind pieces of art in his impressive woodshop in the basement, drawing particular influence from architect Frank Lloyd Wright, and building several notable lamps and house shutters. His attention to detail, precision, and care showed through in all aspects of his life.

Visitation at the Sterling Heights Chapel of the Bagnasco & Calcaterra Funeral Home, 13650 East 15 Mile Road, Monday, November 15, 2021 from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm with Prayers at 7:00 pm. Funeral Mass Tuesday, November 16, 2021 at St. Anastasia Catholic Church, 4571 John R Road, Troy, In state at 9:30 am until time of Mass at 10:00 am.
