With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Theofanis "Ted" Papakonstantinou who was called home by God on November 16, 2023, at the age of 85. A cherished husband to Sofia for 48 years, a devoted father to Achilles (Maryann), and Ritsa, and an adoring Pappouli to his grandsons, Theofanis and Serafim, Ted's legacy of love and joy will forever be treasured.

Born on June 20, 1938, in Kerasia, Karditsa, Greece, Theofanis embarked on a journey to the United States in 1955 as a determined teenager aboard the Queen Frideriki, eventually making his home in Detroit, Michigan. His service in the U.S. Army and his pursuit of higher education set the foundation for a fulfilling career in accounting. Ted dedicated 15 years to Fruehauf Finance Company before embracing his entrepreneurial spirit by acquiring and operating Central Accounting Service for 40 years.

Ted was predeceased by his parents, Axilleas and Agoritsa, and his siblings Elias, Ioannis, Chrisostomos, and Afroditi. His infectious smile and laughter left an indelible mark on all who knew him, and his memory will continue to bring light to our lives.

The family welcomes friends and loved ones to pay their respects on Sunday, November 19, 2023, from 4:00pm to 8:00pm at Bagnasco & Calcaterra Funeral Home, 25800 Harper Avenue, St. Clair Shores, MI 48081. A Trisagion service will be held at 6:30pm.

A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, November 20, 2023, at the Assumption Greek Orthodox Church, 21800 Marter Road, St. Clair Shores, MI 48080. The family will be present from 9:00am, with the Funeral Service commencing at 10:00am. Interment will follow at White Chapel Cemetery in Troy, MI.
