Loving husband of Renee. Dear father of Olivia and Mathew.
Son of the late Daniel Rubino and Kathleen Rubino.
Brother of Michael (Lori), Cindy (Ted), Daniel (Kathleen), Anthony and Therese.
Son In Law of Don (Anne) Margiewicz and Diane (Perry) Johnson.
Brother in Law of Teresa (Mike) O'Donnell, Heather Stinson and Kelly (Terry) Owczarski. Survived by many nieces and nephews.

I am deeply saddened by the news of my friend, Pete Rubino’s passing. He was far too young. I am heartbroken for his family. Renee, Olivia and Mathew Rubino have my most sincere condolences. He was a man who adored his family. He was so proud of Olivia and Mathew and all their activities, from dance to football. He was equally proud of his wife Renee, his childhood friend who turned into his sweetheart and has been by his side for all the ups and downs of three decades and more. He was a proud Siciliano from the East Side. I am going to miss him and his fiery personality. You always knew where you stood with Pete, because he was extremely honest and up front with everyone. Pete was a man of integrity.
He loved Saint Clair Shores. He was involved in the kids activities from the time they were very small. He enjoyed attending Olivia’s recitals and watching Mathew play football for Lakeview. Often we would watch together in the stands during September and October, enjoying the crisp air and the sense of community.
I have been so fortunate to work on City Council with him since his election in 2009. He cared deeply about keeping the government accountable and honest. He was a man who believed in service and he lived out that belief in his everyday life. Even with all his activities and serving nature, he never put on airs or was arrogant. Pete was a humble man. He was as down to earth as they come. He worked hard to ensure that the city worked for the residents. He was a voice of reason for the council. He was a passionate man who truly loved this city. For me personally, Pete was a sounding board and confidante. He was a source of good counsel. More importantly, he was my good friend. He will be dearly missed by me, City Council, and the entire City of Saint Clair Shores. Please pray for the family in this difficult time.
