Patrick Joseph Colasanti

Patrick “Pat” Colasanti, 92, of Cheboygan, Michigan, passed away on Thursday, September 15th, 2022, just shy of his 93rd birthday.

Patrick was born on September 18th, 1929, in Detroit, Michigan, to parents Rosa (nee: Rossi) and Luigi Colasanti.  Patrick married the love of his life, Nancy (nee: Turner), on September 8th, 1953, and had four children: Rose, Susan, Patrick, Michael.  Patrick is also survived by his grandchildren, including Brian, Bill, Larry, Nicole, Patrick, Wayne, and Angela.

Patrick is preceded in death by his beloved Nancy; brother Mario; sister Teresa; and two grandchildren, Charles and Ryan.

Patrick, who also went by Pat or Pasquale, was an incredibly kind man and generous to all who crossed his path.  Noted for his brown eyes, Pat radiated a joyful spirit to all around him.  If you were lucky enough to enter Pat's heart and home, you were often treated to a bottle vino or a glass of Crown Royal.  Though Pat was known for his hearty friendship, he was also known to be quiet, thoughtful, and private.

Patrick was known for his hard work and dedication throughout his life.  He served in the United States Air Force until his honorable discharge in 1952.  Patrick later worked as a building safety engineer, inspector, and instructor.  Patrick sacrificed for his family and never complained.  Later in life, when he could have easily enjoyed an empty nest, he took in his three grandchildren – Chuck, Brian, and Bill – to raise as his own.  Patrick was also a devoted husband to his cherished Nancy.  Through countless surgeries, Patrick was always at her bedside with a warm smile.  Patrick never met a steak he couldn’t conquer!  With good food, great wine, and better company, his twinkling eyes and ear-to-ear smile would light up any room.

Visitation will be held September 20th, 2022, from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm with a Rosary at 7:00 pm at Bagnasco & Calcaterra, 13650 E. 15 Mile Road, Sterling Heights, Michigan.  Mass will be held on September 21st, 2022, at 9:30am at St. Michael Church, with a cemetery procession to follow immediately after the service.  In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Pat’s memory to the USO: www.uso.org/donate
