Mary A. Brugnano

Mary A. Brugnano passed away on June 5, 2022, at age 90. Daughter of Cesare and Maria (nee Mutti) Benigna. Loving wife of Innocenzo Brugnano. Beloved mother of Gaspare Brugnano, Thomas (Donna) Brugnano, Robert Brugnano and the late Christopher Brugnano. Treasured grandmother of Angela (Ryan) Stechow and Amy (Massimo) D'Aristotile. Adored great grandmother of Alexandra, Elizabeth, Gabriella, Gianna and Gemma. Beloved sister of Lena Zolin and Andrew Benigna.


Mary was known for her strength in so many aspects of her life. Raising four boys was a challenge, but Mary made it look easy. She took much pride in her home and the family that she raised. Innocenzo and Mary got married on October 11, 1952 at Santa Maria Catholic Church in Highland Park, Michigan. After that, they lived in Saint Clair Shores for seven years before moving to Saint Paul, Minnesota and even in Saginaw, Michigan before placing their roots in Saint Clair Shores, where they raised their family and have remained since 1965. Mary’s children have many fond memories of eating wonderfully cooked meals around the table as a family and spending summers together. Mary built a life and raised a family that blessed them with many wonderful grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mary’s favorite pastime in her older age was playing pinochle with her friends at the senior center.

Mary will be greatly missed by many family members and friends.
