Margaret Castiglione, born November 6, 1932, to John and Josephine Castiglione, peacefully passed away on April 16, 2024, at the age of 91. Marge was predeceased by her parents John and Josephine, step-siblings, Jackie and Charles, and her step-mother Josephine. She is survived by numerous cousins and her cherished nieces and nephews. Marge was also the beloved Godmother of the late David Persichini.
Born and raised on the east side of Detroit, Marge's journey was one of commitment to education and service. She graduated from Cass Tech High School and pursued her passion for learning at Wayne State University, where she obtained both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees. Prior to her counceling career, Marge dedicated her talents to her first career at Henry Ford Hospital as a Medical Technologist.
Marge's dedication to education expanded to her professional life, where she worked and retired from the Taylor School District as a school psychologist. Beyond her professional pursuits, Marge found joy in exploration and leisure. Traveling was a passion, with Italy and the Galapagos Islands holding special places in her heart, often explored with her cherished travel companions. She also relished in outdoor activities, frequently playing tennis and golf, and immersing herself in the vibrant atmosphere of the Ann Arbor Art Shows.
Marge's commitment to education extended beyond her own pursuits. She established the John & Josephine Castiglione Endowed Scholarship at the University of Michigan College of Literature, Science, and the Arts, ensuring that future generations would have access to the transformative power of education.
