James J. Palmer

Palmer, James J., age 77, March 15, 2021. Beloved father of Jennifer (Bob) Okony and Julianne Palmer Withers. Loving grandfather of the late Harrison Cates Withers IV, Jacob Okony and Avery Okony. Dear brother of Joyce (Bob) Minch, Len Palmer, Francine (Don) Adams and the late Jackie Palmer. James is loved and missed by his many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. He is the former spouse of Sharon (nee Redmond) Palmer and Sandra (nee Malmgren) Palmer.

James was born in Detroit, Michigan to James and Mary Palmer. He was an Arbitrator, and he was actively serving on grievance panels for both the American Arbitration Association and the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service. He retired from DaimlerChrysler as a Director of Union Relations in 2001. Prior to joining Chrysler Corporation, he was an Assistant Secretary of State in Michigan and served on the staff of the Michigan House of Representatives.

A Memorial Gathering will take place on Saturday, April 3rd at 1pm until the time of a Memorial Service at 7pm at Bagnasco & Calcaterra Funeral Home, 13650 East 15 Mile Road in Sterling Heights. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bereaved Parents of Madison or the American Diabetes Association.

Due to current health conditions fascial masks must be worn and social distancing practiced.
