Issa Husari

Issa G. Husari (Gido), age 88, died peacefully in his sleep on November 12, 2022. Issa was born on June 24, 1934 in Fairouzah, Homs, Syria. Beloved husband of Wardah, they were married for 65 years and raised 7 children. Shaboura (Mtanos) Seder, Georgeete Husari, Nawal (Joseph) Bedros, George (Mary) Alhosry, the late Dalal (Sam) Radda, Amal (Riyad) Abdulaziz, and Feras (Katie) Alhosry. Issa is survived by 17 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren

A farmer and laborer for the first half of his life, Issa worked hard to save enough money to buy land and build a home for his family, which he built himself. Following his oldest daughter and son’s migration, Issa immigrated to the United States in 1988 to create a new life for his family. His children and grand children went on to become successful business owners, college graduates, and esteemed professionals in their chosen careers.

Issa never lost his love for farming and planted fruit trees and vegetables every season to pass out to the family. He enjoyed bringing the spreading family together for any occasion, big or small. His home was open to anyone day or night and anyone visiting was always greeted with a welcome and a smile. Parties and visits at Gido’s house will be missed by all.

Visitation for Issa Husari will be held on Wednesday, November 17, 2022 at Bagnasco & Calcatera Funeral Home in St. Clair Shores, MI, from 2:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. with a 7:00 P.M. Prayer. The funeral will be on Thursday, November 18, 2022 at St. Peter & Paul in Southfield, MI, where he will lie in state at 10:00 A.M., until the 11 A.M. mass. He will be laid to rest at Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton Township, MI. A luncheon in Issa’s honor will follow immediately after at La Saj Lebanese Bistro in Sterling Heights, MI.
