Beloved husband of Frances (nee Fazio) for 60 years. Loving father of Tony (Kelly Ellis) Guido, Rose (Brian Morrison) Simpson, and Theresa (Jeff Burger) Guido. Proud grandfather of Angela Guido, Justin (Nina) Simpson, Jordan Simpson, Joe Sowa, and Michael Drouillard. Dearest brother of Rose (the late Joseph) D’Onofrio, Gloria (the late Herb) Lowry and the late Joseph (husband of Grace), Jenny (Jim) Evola, Mary (Leonard) Gerbino, Benny (husband of Lillian) Guido, Jim (Virginia) Guido, Anna (Dominic) Palazzola. Gasper was one of nine children born to Sicilian immigrants who settled on the east side of Detroit. As a young man, he proudly served in the US Army in Korea with the 25th Infantry Division (Tropic Lightning). Upon returning home, Gasper was introduced and later married his wife, Frances. Their three children, Tony, Rose and Theresa often heard their father tell them that he married “the love of my life”. With Gods blessings, they were married for over 60 wonderful years. Gasper was employed with Sherwood Iron Works for 30 years where he created beautiful custom designed ornamental installment for homes and businesses. He later went on to work in the Chippewa Valley School System as a Head Custodian for Ottawa Elementary School. As a devoted husband, father and grandfather, Gasper was happiest when surrounded by family. He was proud of his Italian heritage and spent over 20 plus years as a member of the Italian American Cultural Society Senior Club where he enjoyed spending time with his fellow members and family. He was a true-blue Detroit sports fan with the Tigers and Red Wings at the top of his list. He also loved watching Boxing and Wrestling. Anyone that knew Gasper enjoyed his total recall of events and dates. “Goodbyes are only for those who love with their eyes. Because those who love with heart and soul, there is no separation”
