Elaine A. Garavaglia

Elaine Ann Garavaglia, age 86, passed away peacefully on April 6, 2024.

She was the beloved wife of the late Carl Garavaglia and the loving mother of Mary Jo Granthen-Dorsey. Elaine was a cherished grandmother to Kayli King and Steven Dorsey, and a proud great-grandmother to Aurora. She was also a dear sister to Mary Ann Blaska and was preceded in death by her brothers Frank Blaska Jr. and Joseph Blaska.

Elaine's journey began in the Detroit area, where she spent her formative years before eventually moving from Ortonville to Tennessee 20 years ago. She found great joy in her new home, particularly in its proximity to the lake, where she indulged in her passion for birdwatching and flower gardening. Those who knew her admired her green thumb, especially for her beautiful peonies, which were a testament to her dedication and care. Among her cherished companions was her beloved pet Gizmo, a loyal chihuahua who was her faithful friend.

Her memory will be treasured by all who knew her, not only for her love of nature and animals but also for her warmth, kindness, and unwavering generosity. Elaine's family and friends will forever hold dear the memories they shared with her.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, April 11, 2024, from 9:30 am until the time of the Funeral Service at 11:30 am at the Bagnasco & Calcaterra Funeral Home, located at 13650 E. Fifteen Mile Rd., Sterling Heights, Michigan.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association in honor of Elaine's memory, as she bravely battled the disease. Your support in this cause would be deeply appreciated by Elaine's loved ones.

Elaine Ann Garavaglia leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and joy that will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to have known her. May she rest in eternal peace.
