January 20, 1939 ~ January 7, 2022 (age 82) 82 Years Old

Tribute

Deanna Marie Radtke 1939-2022

Deanna Radtke beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister passed away on January 7, 2022.

Deanna was born January 20, 1939 in Detroit to Arnold and Grace Nix. She married to Richard Radtke on September 5, 1959. She was the mother to David Radtke (Lisa Canada) and Nancy Montreuil (Mark) and Grandmother to Brendan, Brady, André Michael, Paige and Tara.

She was extremely close to her siblings Tom (and Cheryl) Nix, Sharon Dettmer and Carolyn Ugval (deceased).

Deanna was an outgoing, generous and enthusiastic person throughout her life. She would strike up a conversation with anyone. She was always quick with advice and generous with compliments.

While she was a wonderful wife and mother, it was her grandchildren that she doted over since her first grandson was born 23 years ago. She took an extreme interest in their lives and never stopped finding new ways to connect with and encouraged them. She would research things that interested them so that she could better relate to them. She would regularly call them individually and send them clippings of articles when she couldn’t be with them. She fought so hard to live the longest life possible so that she could see them grow and flourish. She did not hide her love for them in any way and because of this, her bond with each grandchild is unique and profound.

She loved golf, fishing, her cottage on Rainy Lake, going to Florida in the winter and spending time with her many friends.

An avid sports fan, she loved watching the Detroit Tigers and rooting for the Michigan State Spartans, especially their basketball team.

From a young age, Deanna courageously struggled against the effects of Crohn’s disease. She fought this disease with all of her might and led a full life without ever letting the disease control her.

Visitation and Service for Deanna will be held at the Bagnasco & Calcaterra Funeral Home in Sterling Heights, 13650 East 15 Mile Road. Visitation Tuesday, January 11, 2022 from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a service at 7:00 PM.
