Anne M. Bernardi

Anne Margaret Bernardi of Eastpointe, age 101 died Wednesday, June 15, 2022 with family and her long time caregiver Lois by her side.

Anne was born June 21, 1920 in Gross Kansas to the late Pietro and Rose (nee Nuna) Bernardi, Anne moved to Detroit at the age of 7 with her parents and graduated in 1938 from East Commerce High School and then worked at the U.S. Army Tank-Automotive and Armaments Command for 45 years. Anne loved her family and her faith in God, she enjoyed traveling, going to the Casino’s, playing cards with the many friends she had over the years and going to the family cottage in the summer. Later in years Anne’s favorite hobbies is memorizing the birthdates of friends and family and playing these numbers in the lottery and with Anne being so kind she would give the winnings to those whose numbers came out. When Anne turned 100 years old she credits her longevity to hard work and wonderful relationships with family and her countless number of diverse friends.

She is survived by her nephew Alden (Yvonne) Bernardi, niece Lois Bernardi and many great and great-great nephews and nieces.

She was preceded in death by her siblings, Cearino Bernardi, Aldo Bernardi, Peter Louis Bernardi, Mary Vignaroli and Marianna Linari.

Visitation at the Sterling Heights Chapel of the Bagnasco & Calcaterra Funeral Home, 13650 East 15 Mile Road, Monday, June 20, 2022 from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm with Funeral Service at 7:30 pm.

Anne’s final resting will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Detroit with her parents and brother.
