Robert Ray Pasternak

Robert Ray Pasternak, age 61, passed away on July 5, 2022 at his home in Sterling Heights. Beloved father of Jordan Altobelli and his wife Britney. Dearest brother of Lynn Gazo and her husband Mike, James Pasternak and his wife Dawn, and Thomas Pasternak and his wife Laurie. Loving uncle of Paige Lesher and her husband Kyle.

Born October 28, 1960, Rob was the youngest son of Ray and Betty Pasternak. He attended St. Peter Grade School in Harper Woods and graduated from Notre Dame High School in 1978. He obtained his bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Detroit. Rob spent the duration of his career with the St. Clair Shores Police Department where he retired as a sergeant in 2011.

Since his retirement, Rob spent his time fishing, analyzing major league baseball, and cooking for loved ones. His favorite fishing spots were Alaska, Ludington, and Lake St. Clair, where halibut, salmon, and walleye were his favorite catch. Cooking for other people was one of his greatest joys. Spending time with Rob meant that you would eat well and often go home with leftovers. These meals would be accompanied with great stories, because his personality was as big as the meal.

Rob will be remembered for his generosity. A majority of his retirement was spent taking care of the people he loved. Rob would show up to help and would not leave until the job was done. The loss of his generous spirit will be felt by many. He will be greatly missed. 

Visitation will take place at Bagnasco & Calcaterra Funeral Home , 25800 Harper Avenue (3 block North of 10 Mile On east Side of Street) St. Clair Shores on Sunday, July 10, 2022 from 3:00pm to 9:00pm and Monday July 11, 2022 from 10:00am to time of Funeral Service at 11:00 AM.
