It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Virginia A. Locricchio, who departed from this world on March 16, 2024, at the age of 94. She was the beloved wife of the late Anthony J. Locricchio, and together they shared a lifetime of love and companionship.
Virginia was a cherished mother to Patricia (Daniel) Goff, Antoinette Locricchio, and Rosemary Schomer. Her devotion to her family knew no bounds, and she was a guiding light in their lives. She found immense joy in her role as a grandmother to Jennifer (John) Barry, Shannon (Tom) Lauerman, Anthony (Michelle) Morgan, Thomas L. (Rattana) Morgan, Timothy H. (April) Morgan, Nicholas (Holly) Carter, Anna Marie Carter, and Lucas Schomer. Her legacy continued through her great-grandchildren, Aislinn Barry, Aine Barry, Eamon Barry, Marcella Lauerman, Felix Lauerman, Connor Morgan, Andrew Morgan, Mia Kai Morgan, Richard Carter, Vincent Carter, and Locryn Gregory.
Virginia, alongside her beloved husband Anthony, dedicated many years to running the Nugget restaurant on Mack in Detroit. She was renowned for her culinary skills and had a passion for entertaining and hosting Sunday dinners for her family. Virginia's kitchen was not only a place of delicious meals but also a hub for love and laughter. She found immense joy in teaching her grandchildren the art of baking, and her famous question, "Are you hungry?" was a testament to her nurturing spirit.
A Funeral Mass to honor Virginia's life will be held on Saturday, March 23, 2024, at 10:00 am, with the Instate beginning at 9:30 am, at St. Paul of Tarsus Catholic Church, located at 41300 Romeo Plank Rd., Clinton Township, MI.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, a cause that was close to Virginia's heart.
Virginia will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her, but her memory will forever remain in the hearts of those she loved and touched throughout her remarkable life. May she rest in eternal peace.
