Marian DeLiso

Marian DeLiso, 76, of Harrison Township passed away peacefully on February 14, 2017 after a long illness.  Marian Irene was born to John & Mary (Toth) Sullivan on October 28, 1940.  She married Charles DeLiso on Oct 3, 1964.  She was a sharp bookkeeper, but despite her employer's offer to bring her babies to work she chose the sacrifices of being a full-time mom.  She gave countless hours to her children, preschooling them in reading and math.  Her hobbies were bowling, difficult puzzles of any kind, and playing strategy and board games with the kids.  She patiently accepted challenges to her Scrabble Title for years, and when they became realistic challenges from the kids she and Dad put through college, she’d still find “success,” or any other 7-letter word, toward the end of the game, and claim a close victory from even the most likely upset.  She was an avid L’Anse Creuse Little League, Detroit Tigers, and Detroit Redwings fan, and after slowing down following a long second career as a pharmacy technician, she loved treating her daughter to an afternoon charity bingo game in later years. She was preceded in death by her husband “Chuck” in 2007 and daughter Tina in 2013 and only sister, Pat.  She is survived by her sons Chris (Brenda) and Paul (Jill) of Roseville, grandchildren Katie, Dominic, Joe, Kelly, John, Dana, and Ben, and nieces Janice and Jill. Visitation at the Sterling Heights Chapel of Bagnasco & Calcaterra Funeral Home, 13650 E. Fifteen Mile Road (@ Schoenherr) Friday, 2:00 pm to 9:00 pm with evening rosary 7:00 pm. Funeral Saturday 10:00 am at the funeral home. Going in procession to Resurrection Cemetery, Clinton Township for Entombment. Memorial contribution to charity of your choice.
