Madeline A. Leggio, 86 of Sterling Heights, Michigan, passed away March 22, 2017. Madeline was born in Detroit, Michigan, to the late Marie Antonia(nee Coztanza) and Antonio Leggio, On October 29, 1930.
She had four sisters and one brother. Madeline worked for Detroit Edison and later received her teaching degree and Masters in Education from Wayne State University. After she retired from teaching, she moved part time to Fort Pierce, Florida, and enjoyed many winters living near her sisters. The past two years Madeline lived at the American House in Grosse Pointe Farms and made several close friends. she is survived by two sisters, Bessie Buffa and Rosemarie Renfro; ten nieces and nephews. Madeline is pre-deceased by her parents, Marie and Antonio Leggio, and siblings, Catherine Rupprecht, Pauline Malatin, and Anthony Leggio. She will be missed by her family and friends. A Memorial Service will be held at St. Paul's on the Lake Catholic Church, 157 Lakeshore Drive, Grosse Pointe Farms, MI at 10:00am on March 24th. She will be laid to rest in Resurrection Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers donations can be made in her name to St. Paul School Education Trust Fund. Arrangements handled by the St. Clair Shores Chapel of the Bagnasco & CalcaterraFuneral Home.
