John James Herndon

Herndon, John J. Jr. Age 22 February 14, 2017 Suddenly.
Loving son of Deborah and the late John J. Sr. Dearest brother of Angel. Devoted loving partner of Paige R. Rener. Grandson of David B. (Ann) Herndon and Concetta (Jerry) McCann, Agnes (the late Herbert R.) Caldwell. Great grandson of Ida (the late John J. ) Altobelli . Also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. John was a member of National Wheelchair Basketball Association, Sterling Heights Challenger Wheelchair Basketball Team, Detroit Diehards, Athletes Unlimited, and Southwest Minnesota State University Mustangs. John was very active in fundraising for R.I.M. (Rehabilitation Institute of Michigan).
Visitation at the Sterling Heights Chapel of Bagnasco & Calcaterra Funeral Home 13650 E. Fifteen Mile Road, (@ Schoenherr) Sunday 2-9 pm and Monday 1-9 pm with prayer service at 7:00 pm. Funeral Tuesday Instate 9:00 am St. Blase Catholic Church 12151 Fifteen Mile Road, Sterling Heights, until time of Mass 9:30 am. Entombment Resurrection Cemetery. Memorial contributions to National Wheelchair Basketball Association appreciated by family.
